Is PillPack from Amazon Pharmacy right for me?

Answer

If you take two or more prescription medications regularly, PillPack from Amazon Pharmacy will help you sort your medications by time and date in convenient tear-and-go packets, and deliver to your address monthly. We will simplify the refill process by aligning all your prescriptions to the same schedule and let you know if new prescriptions become eligible, so you can easily add them to your PillPack.

How does PillPack from Amazon Pharmacy work?

Answer

Enrolling into PillPack service is easy – just log in to your Amazon Pharmacy account, and click ‘Sign up for PillPack’. You will see all your eligible medications listed – simply select the medications you want in your PillPack, review the payment preference, insurance details, and delivery address, and confirm signing up for your PillPack. We will tell you upfront when your next PillPack delivery will arrive, and if you need short-term supplies for any of your medications while you wait for your PillPack, you can place an order and we will send them separately right away.

Which medications can be included in PillPack?

Answer

Most prescriptions that come in a pill form can be included in PillPack. Additionally, you will be able to select from a curated list of vitamins and over-the-counter medications to add to your PillPack (e.g., Vitamin D3 or fish oil). When you go to sign up, you will see all of your medications that are eligible for PillPack. If you have government insurance, you can add the medication to your PillPack only after ordering the first fill of that medication on Amazon Pharmacy.

Medications that come in blister packs, dissolvable tablets, gummies and chewable, controlled substances, and refrigerated items cannot be put in packets. But you can always order those medications separately through Amazon Pharmacy and we will deliver them either in bottles or in their original packaging.

Does PillPack from Amazon Pharmacy work with insurance, my FSA, RxPass, coupons, or other Prime benefits?

Answer

Yes, PillPack from Amazon Pharmacy works with most health insurance plans, HSA and FSA accounts, RxPass, automatically applied eligible manufacturer coupons, and all other Prime benefits. You will be able to use all of your Amazon Pharmacy benefits with PillPack. We will show you the lowest available price with or without insurance, including any savings. If you prefer to pay with insurance, we will attempt to use your insurance, but if it is not possible to obtain a paid claim by the time we need to fill your packet, we may default to Prime/cash.

PillPack from Amazon Pharmacy also accepts government insurances like Medicare or Medicaid, depending on your state and its restrictions on automatic refills. If you have Medicare, you will also have an option to “Only pay with insurance”, so you may choose to always pay the insurance price for your medications in your PillPack. You will be able to change your default payment preference at sign-up or anytime under PillPack Settings. With Medicaid, you are only eligible to pay with insurance. If your insurance doesn’t cover a medication, then we will remove it from your PillPack.

Question 5

What is included in my first PillPack shipment?

Answer

The contents of your first PillPack order will depend on the prescription dates of your medications. In some cases, a 1-3 month period of synching may be required, such as for medications that are scheduled to refill at a different time each month. While we are aligning your medications on the same schedule, few medications may still arrive in a bottle to ensure clinical guidelines and insurance coverage continuity.

How much does PillPack from Amazon Pharmacy service cost?

Answer

There is no additional charge for PillPack service. You will only pay for your medications (30-day copays or out-of-pocket expenses if applicable).

By enrolling in PillPack you understand that your extended supply prescription will be changed to a 30-day supply. This may impact how much you pay. Call your plan's Customer Service department at the number on your ID card to confirm your share of cost.

How often will I be charged?

Answer

You will be charged once every 30 days for all of your medications in PillPack. We will let you know the final cost of your upcoming order each month before we prepare your PillPack.

Question 8

Why is the schedule 30-day for PillPack?

Answer

With PillPack, we fill prescriptions on a 30-day, rather than a 90-day cycle. This is because we understand medications, strengths, and doses may change. Filling prescriptions monthly allows us to quickly accommodate any adjustments for your next order, so you don't have to throw out two months of medication any time there's a change. Depending on your insurance plan, your copays may increase as a result of changing from a 90-day to a 30-day supply. If your provider is used to writing 90-day prescriptions, they can continue to do so. We'll dispense it on a 30-day schedule for you and notify you with final price that may result from this change in your monthly cost summary. As part of your PillPack service, we work with your provider and insurance to renew your prescriptions before you need them.

Question 9

What if I decide to cancel?

Answer

You can cancel your PillPack from Amazon Pharmacy service anytime. We will stop any future PillPack orders, and you will not be charged again. After you cancel your PillPack subscription, you can manually order your medications from Amazon Pharmacy, and if you don’t want to worry about reordering before you run out, you will be able to turn on automatic refills on them to get them filled every 30 days in bottles. If you change your mind, you can always come back to subscribe to PillPack again.

Question 10

Is PillPack packaging child-resistant?

Answer

No. PillPack from Amazon Pharmacy is not available in child-resistant packaging. Child-resistant packages help reduce risks of child poisoning. PillPack is not child safe and should be kept out of the reach of children at all times. If you prefer child-resistant packaging, please visit your PillPack settings to cancel your PillPack service and order your medication in bottles.

Question 11

Are Spanish language labels available for PillPack from Amazon Pharmacy?

Answer

No. Currently, our packets and medication lists for PillPack are only available in English. We are working on ways to provide more language options.

Question 12

I have government insurance, why am I not able to add new prescriptions to my PillPack?

Answer

Government beneficiaries may opt-in to automatic refills only after the first fill of a medication. PillPack is an auto-refill program.

After the first fill of your new prescription on Amazon Pharmacy, you’ll be able to add the medication to your PillPack. So while your first fills will be in bottles, subsequent fills can be in your PillPack.
